About the Event
What is Pilates?
Pilates is a scientifically-based method of exercise that consists of low-impact mobility, muscular strength, and endurance movements. Pilates emphasizes breathing, proper postural alignment, core strength, and muscle balance. It is also a wonderful complement to other sports training and rehabilitation.
What is Yoga stretch?
Postures will be held longer to allow you to get deep into the stretch to release tension and stiffness. This stress-relieving practice will open up space in the bod and reset your mind, leaving you feeling light and released. It is great for beginners who are new to the practice of yoga and for those who want a restorative stretch after a workout.
What to expect
This class includes 45 mins of mat pilates followed by 45 mins of yoga stretch. We will focus on mobilizing your spine, strengthen your core muscles, and activating hip flexors and extensors in the pilates section. Yoga mats and blocks will be provided. This session is open to all levels.
Esther is an avid Pilates practitioner, storyteller, and believer in sports empowerment. Enthusiastic on all types of training, she eventually dove deep into Pilates when it answered her injured lower back problems back in 2017. She looks forward to sharing her experience with athletes of all types, so they can benefit from moving their body more effective and overall perform better in whatever sport they do.
Phoebe was introduced to yoga in 2009 and was graduated from 200-hour Classical Hatha Yoga Teacher Training under the guidance of Michelle Ricaille. She then continued her practice of Yin Yoga and Mindfulness under the guidance of Jo Phee, Sarah Power, and Janet Lau.
Her passion lies in inspiring others to find peace and to live a balanced life. She considers yoga as a therapeutic tool that is powerful and effective in healing one’s mind and body. With the continuous growth of anxiety-related illness in the society, She believes the power of yoga can help people to gain awareness in their body and inner self, which can be carried through into all aspects of life.
