About the Event
What is Pilates?Â
Pilates is a scientifically-based method of exercise that consists of low-impact mobility, muscular strength, and endurance movements. Pilates emphasizes breathing, proper postural alignment, core strength, and muscle balance. It is also a wonderful complement to other sports training and rehabilitation.Â
What is Yoga stretch?Â
Postures will be held longer to allow you to get deep into the stretch to release tension and stiffness. This stress-relieving practice will open up space in the bod and reset your mind, leaving you feeling light and released. It is great for beginners who are new to the practice of yoga and for those who want a restorative stretch after a workout.
What to expect
This class includes 45 mins of mat pilates followed by 45 mins of yoga stretch. We will focus on mobilizing your spine, strengthen your core muscles, and activating hip flexors and extensors in the pilates section. Yoga mats and blocks will be provided. This session is open to all levels.
